Hey all,

KAAGW is back from the Summer Holidays and I am ready to continue my fight to debunk Anthropogenic Global Warming. I’m going to start with an article I found, which is currently 30 min old on cairns.com.au.

Breaking News: Eat less red meat, dairy for environment

AUSTRALIANS should eat less red meat and dairy to help themselves and the environment, a leading public health group says.

Dietary guidelines recommend adults eat three to four serves of red meat a week.

They suggest adults consume between 1000mg and 1300mg of calcium per day, depending on age and gender, with a glass of milk, tub of yoghurt and two slices of cheese each providing about 300mg. …

The Association’s Chief, Michael Moore, said today the chronic disease risks of certain foods regardless of their nutrient content, the environmental impact of food choices and access to inexpensive healthy foods must be considered.

He said reducing consumption of red meat and dairy products would lower carbon emissions.

“A small reduction in eating red meat and dairy would be a positive step for the environment and generally a positive step for health,” he said.

“Reducing the amount of food that comes from cattle would actually have a greater impact on the environment than sourcing (food) locally.

“Australians tend to eat more red meat than is necessary.” …

Let’s debunk this. What this article fails to include is exactly how cutting down on dairy/red meat consumption will contribute to carbon emissions. Is the dairy/cattle industry going to crumble not from the Global Financial Crisis, but from people thinking having their protein and calcium will contribute to AGW, therefore stop buying so much of the product, forcing the farmers to reduce how many cows they have? So, in turn, reducing their carbon emissions because there’s less cows farting Methane gas everywhere? At least Malcom Riley wants us to have our calcium, just not waste it.

Care to discuss?

Blogging time:

Over the holidays, I actually did get to meet Prof. Bob Carter and his wife Anne. They popped in one day on their way home from a certain city close to where I live for a cup of tea. They were the nicest couple and together my parents and I had a great intellectual conversation with them. I’m very excited as to the near future when Prof. Carter comes to my school to give a talk on both sides of the AGW story.

On another note, again, in Religion class (don’t I learn all in there?) we talked about our beliefs. Though we had a substitute teacher, we stayed on topic and had a good discussion. Turning a bit political here our teacher got onto the subject of change and therefore President Barack Obama. Being Catholic, I don’t support Obama because of the fact that he supported a bill to have children who had survived abortion that they still be killed. Again, being Christian, I believe every life is precious, even before it leaves the womb and we should celebrate that life and love it. I said that, (this being a Catholic school) that Catholicism does not support abortions for the above reason. A few people challenged me and I think I may being improving on my debating skills because they ended up understanding my point of view. I was asked if I fell pregnant suddenly and unplanned if I would keep the child. The answer was yes, for the simple reason that if I had had an abortion I would feel like a murderer. Though I seriously doubt it actually happening, being the pure little child I am. Long story, short we were told that our beliefs were our own opinion and they were valid as long as you could justify your belief. How this relates to AGW is you have got to know what you are talking about before you present it. Many people I’ve asked say AGW is real, but they can’t back it up, because all they know is the image of Al Gore pointing at some graph saying “we’re facing a planetary emergency, the Polar Bears are dying”.

Ending note, I remember in ‘06, the Far North had the terrible category 5 cyclone Larry. I read an article in the local paper that as a result of AGW we would be experiencing far more severe cyclones. Last night, Cyclone Ellie, a category 1 gust of wind made landfall, and though I admit I’m just a little bit North of where it hit, nothing happened majorly. Flooding yes, but this is the wet season, can you expect anything else? I still went to school today, and so did many other of my friends.

Discuss if you want, but a little disclaimer is that the above blog is my personal beliefs. You don’t have to agree.

Also, some emails would be nice! (admin@kidsagainstagw.com)

I am SOOOOO happy to see a young person with this kind of site! I am a US citizen and will not be sending my children to our public schools because of the garbage they are polluting their minds with. I am excited to see the future of this site too! Keep up the good work!
